Poem - The Trees, They Shrink Behind

Rainbows at Night - The Poems of Clive Culverhouse

The Trees, They Shrink Behind

The trees, they shrink behind
but grow larger up ahead
as a seed settles inside
a fire deep ignites
The early morning mist
has lasted days on end
The horizon now a knife
and flames start licking high
A flicker and a glint
A pounding from within
I claim the road as mine
and enter virgin time
